Is it possible to preview or browse the photos without importing all the phots into the Mac? Sometimes I just want to preview the photos and select the best ones to import into the Mac for further editting and delete the rest of them. But now I must import all of them ino Mac before I preview them in slideshow. It is not that convenient for me. Any good suggestions from you guys?

Not aware of any photo app that is going to give you a full size preview prior to importing.
All the ones I am aware of only show thumbnails prior to import, not full size.
Not good for deciding which pics to keep and toss except maybe the ones that are out of focus.

Would suggest continue importing all of them and then doing your editing/deleting within whichever photo app you've decided to use.

Hi Helena - I'm assuming that you want to view your camera photos that are on a SD card (whether inserted into your computer or attached via the digital camera) and delete those from the camera before transferring to the computer - correct?

If so, one option is to go into Finder and select the SD card which will be mounted; then, choose the images you want to view (i.e. click the ones of interest or draw a box around a bunch of pics) - double-click on one image and all should show up in a Preview window (see attached pic below of a recent trip for me); on the right, swiping will allow you to pan through the chosen images; on the left, click on an 'unwanted' image, then 'double click' and select move to trash - that image(s) will be deleted from your SD card - give it a try and let us know if the process works for you - good luck! Dave :)

Hi, Bobtomay, thanks for your reply to my question. A photographer friend recommend a paid APP to me (luckily, just USD 1.99, not that expensive, haha) named "ArcSoft Photo+". I just tried it. Slideshow preview before importing and it supports many different formats of pics. I think I will use it for some time until IOS finally provid this essential function, :p. Just share for your information: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/arcsoft-photo+/id628703558?mt=12

Hi, Dave, thanks so much for the detailed instruction. It works. If I get to know this earlier, I would not have boutht that APP. Anyway, fortunately the APP is neither bad nor expensive. Thanks again! Helena

The apps included with OS X have always been amazing. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of reasons for third-party software but many people buy new software before discovering what existing software can do. I've done that many times myself.

You are right! I shall have more confidence in my dear Mac and explore more. Thanks!

Good Mac Photo Viewer with Fast Speed

It is WidsMob Viewer that allows you to view thousands of pictures in 5 different viewing modes. You can access all stored pictures by opening one picture only. Thus, if you want view, edit and manage Mac photos in large amounts, you can try this photo viewer.

A warm welcome to Mac-Forums, alexhamberg, and thank you for posting.

I guess the matter was resolved by the time of the last posting which was 5 years ago.
