Nope. Mavericks is an OS upgrade (not an update)...and it won't be free. Updates are free...upgrades are not.

This is like asking..."If I purchase and upgrade to Windows 8...will I get Windows 9 for free?"

doesen't apple usually offer free updates for those who purchase previous version only like 3 months before the release?

Usually on purchases of new Macs which ship with the current version, if there is a new OS release shortly afterward, Apple has provided free upgrade.

All "updates" are free. Have never seen a free "upgrade" except to purchasers of new Macs.

Like RavingMac mentioned...only if you've purchased a new computer within a short time of a new OS release.

That would be great if we could purchase something for $20 bucks (Mountain Lion)...and get something for $20 bucks free (Mavericks)!;)
