Now that I've started using a 13" MacBook Pro, battery life has become a concern, as opposed to the Mac mini that I let cook 24/7.
I would like to try the Wake on LAN feature or WOL. But I've been unable to get it working. I have a Netgear WNDR3700v3 router and not an Apple AirPort router. I've also read that Apple does WOL a little differently than the others. So I wonder if I can do this without a real Apple router.
I've been trying various iPad WOL apps on the client end.
So before I start using a packet sniffer, has anyone been able to make WOL work with any router?
