I just bought an external CD-R/RW drive for my iBook which apparently should just work, it is supposed to be a plug n play drive so I don't need any driver or anything, problem is that my iBook cant seem to pick it up, anyone have any suggestions?

Which app are you trying to burn with?
Try inserting a regular audio or data cd first and see if it mounts on the desktop.
To burn from the iLife apps, you'll need to download Patchburn 4. (Google it)
Otherwise you should be able to burn from toast without any problems.

Yup, go to patchburn.de and download the program patchburn 4.

It basically enables burning with external burners from the iLife apps.
