Hi all,

Does anyone know if it's possible to assign different hostnames to the ethernet and wireless adaptor's MAC addresses? I'd like to be able to easily differentiate them in my DHCP server's client list.

Thanks!

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anyway of doing this. I thought perhaps the 'DHCP Client ID' setting in System Preferences > Network > Advanced might be a way to do this but further investigation revealed that it's best not to mess with this setting.

Since I only ever use the ethernet connection within my local LAN for gigabit-rate data transfers, I ended up just assigning a DHCP reservation for the thunderbolt ethernet MAC and was able to associate a hostname with it there so problem solved.
