MacBook screen cracked; have an old one

My MacBook screen is cracked, it just slipped out of my hands. I have a MacBook Pro 15 inch that crapped out on me from a bad hard drive but the screen works. Can I take that screen out and replace it on my broken one?

No, it won't work because the models are different and the size is not the same. You can buy a replacement screen for the MacBook from:

PowerbookMedic.com There are also many other places on the web that sell the screen. And if you want someone else to do the work for you, you can send the MacBook out to iResq.

If you are accurately describing that the laptop with the cracked screen is a MacBook...then no you cannot replace the 13" screen of a MacBook (all MacBooks have a 13" screen)...with a 15" screen from a MacBook Pro.

For some reason I didn't write this out right. They are both 15 inch MacBook pros.

Seems to me it would be easier to replace a hard drive than to replace a screen.

Ok then...that makes more sense. I agree with bobtomay...swap the hard drives...not the the screens.

And we also don't know what year model these 2 MBPs are - not sure the screen from an '06 model is going to go onto a '13 model.
