Optical drive enclosure

I am looking for an optical drive enclosure.

I removed Panasonic internal optical drive, UJ-85C, from my old iMac G5. This one was purchased in Feb 2008 from OWC and it worked perfectly. I contacted OWC about the enclosure and was told they no longer carry it.

I did some research but could not come up with the right one (means not sure if it fits correctly).

This optical drive comes with the interface, IDE/ATAPI, the size 12.7mm.

If you know the source for the enclosure, please help my search.

External optical drives are inexpensive. You can find them sold on Amazon and other net resellers. For maybe $10 more than what you would pay for an enclosure, you could purchase a new external optical drive.

And for an older G5 PowerPC iMac make sure you get a Firewire external case or Firewire powered drive. More often than not external optical drives will not be bootable using USB.

I think I will consider to buy a new Apple external drive.
