Hi All,
I formatted an external hard drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted), and forgot the password. Yeah I know, I know... dumb mistake. I can get all the data back from another backup, but I am wondering if anyone here has tried doing a brute force password crack on a drive. Is this a viable option or am I out of luck?
Thanks

If you can recover all your data from another backup I would say don't worry about trying to crack the password on the encrypted drive. Lesson learned..... either don't encrypt or don't forget the password. I'm sure the NSA would be able to crack it, but otherwise I don't know of a way.
