Mac OS X Server DNS Issue

Here is a quick overview of the setup. It is a Public and Private network using 2 VLANs. On the Private VLAN, there is a Windows 2008 R2 Server and a Mac OS X 10.8 Server each running directory services. DHCP is handed out from The Mac Server. DNS is running on Mac and Windows Server for directory services.

Here is the issue, The only machines that can connect to the respective domain is the ones connected to the server listed first in the DHCP DNS list. So if the list looks like Mac Server, Windows Server, Public DNS the Mac Users can connect but windows users can't. If you switch the Windows and Mac servers in the list then Windows users can connect and mac users can't. Windows users need to access shares on the mac server.

I know there is a simple fix to solve this, but I am not familiar with DNS server setup, Could some help? Thanks.

Are you talking about Primary Zone?

Ok reading this again, I think I realized what your were asking. Were you asking about the static DNS addresses that was setup for each NIC? If so, I had the windows server setup that way, the mac was itself, then the 2 external DNS, the only way it knew to transfer was it was setup in the forwarding DNS section.

After changing this, it seams to be working, the real test will be once I attempt to login to the windows machine I just configured, it is currently updating I will let you know how this goes. Thanks.
