Microsoft Entourage email program

We just got updated to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8). Our email program Entourage keeps freezing during mundane tasks like deleting a message.
We like having an email program on our computer where we can organize our email as we like, and not have to go to our supplier to get mail.

What can we do to change this behavior?

You can download and organize mail the way you wish by using Mac Mail. There's no need to use Entourage. But if you want to use Entourage and it's freezing, perhaps its identity data base is corrupt.

Thanks for your reply. I wonder if your instructions apply to Office 2004 as well? That's the Office version we have.

Give it a try to see if it works. I suspect the instructions are the same.
