I recently visited the Mac Genius bar and they reinstalled my Mac OSX 10.7.5 due to some corrupted files on disc repair (spinning wheel issues) .. that seems to be better BUT

My printers have "disappeared" since the reinstall. i went to download the drivers again to reinstall them, and i get an error message that the printers are already installed. I cant find them anywhere. Can anyone help before I have to try and call Mac help ?

Thanks !

Welcome to the forums.

Where are you downloading them from? What's the exact message? Screenshot?

When you go to System Preferences - Printers .... what do you have listed?

What happens if you connect your printer directly to your Mac?

Hit the little (+) button under Printers as mrplow suggests and see if they come online. Otherwise use software CDs to reinstall.

CDs that come with the printer are almost always out of date....
If you don't get any result from clicking on Add/+ in Print & Scan/Print & Fax prefs,
I suggest you Reset the Printing System:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system

Then adding again (Print & Scan/Print & Fax).
