Runaway fan

Hi I am using OX 10.8.4 on an MBA 11" mid 2011 (4,1) with an LED Cinema display.

The fan has been speeding up lately for no reason I can find. Activity Monitor sheds no light (though I may not know what to look for).

Any thoughts--it never used to do this . . .

If the fan is speeding up when you're working on that 90+ page Word document, I can understand why. Take a look at my reply to your other question regarding how much disk space you have left and the amount of memory your Air has to work with.
