This is a glitter heart sitting in a can of granulated red glitter (almost like sand). Nothing like a little macro fun... :black:

I took this at the World Trade Center on June 9, 2005. I took it with a Canon Powershot A60 (2.0 Megapixels). I messed around with it a bit on iphoto. I really like how it turned out.

hey pscl227, on the cars headlights in your picture, how do you get them to appear as a solid band through the scene?
thanks

It's a long exposure... The shutter actually stays open for an extended period of time... long enough for the car to drive through the scene... 13 seconds according to his specs. Long exposure is great for shooting low light situations as long as the subjects are not moving and you have a tripod.

Thanks Sarahsboy, This was taken with a Nikon D2X and 70-200 f/2.8 along with the 1.7tc teleconverter so the total focal length was 340mm. This photo is also cropped quite a bit to bring the action closer. I bought a 13" wide printer last week and it looks great 13x19 on the wall.

Very cool... Have you noticed any significant degredation of quality when using the 1.7tc? I have been debating between getting a 70-200mm f/2.8 (canon) and a 2x or the 1.4x converter for it... or going ahead and getting a 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6. I know I am comparing different brands... But I am just curious how well those teleconverters work general.

You must note that I am quite picky, however find that the combination works only with sufficient lighting to shoot at f/8 or above. I have gotten some shots at f/6.7 that were not too bad however at the f/4.8 widest aperture it is quite soft. I would like to get a 1.4, I understand that one does not degrade the image as much.

The shot here was cropped even after the use of the teleconverter so the field of view represented here would most likely have taken a 500m lens to accomplish.
