Firstly how do you know you have a fbi virus ?? The reason you cant find anything about removing from a Mac, is because it doesnt affect a Mac . . Please supply more information, what OS you are running on what type of Mac.

It cant be on there unless you typed in your Master Password and installed it. Go Here and see if you truely have it

Cheers

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Mac OS X - there are no viruses. If it is a Windows virus it cannot run under the Unix code. Let the Windows users worry about that and the thousands of other viruses.

The fbi virus is a Windows virus and can not infect your Mac. Here is the LINK to info regarding the virus and how it pretends to ask you for a ransom to unlock your computer.

thank you guys,
i got the virus when i was visiting porn website. it posed as fbi asking for a fine, it is obviously fake, but when i tried to close the window i just can not close it, no matter how i try, it said my browser has been locked, i can not even shut down my mac because the safari made it unable to shut down whatsoever. when i searched for how to clean fbi virus on mac, some people said that there are some antivirus app for mac, so i went to the app store and downloaded one, its called iantivirus, finally i installed it and scanned my entire computer, but it turns out ' no threat has been found ' after 10 min fully scan.. So i went to downloaded another antivirus app called bitdefender virus scanner, and ' no malware found ' again!!!!!
are you kidding me???!!! the virus is right in front of my face, right on the desktop, i can not close it , i can not even shut down my computer, it is just waste of time on those antivirus app. btw both app are free.
guess what happened, when i just felt like I'm having too many programs running so i went to apple icon on the left side, click force quit, and then I just closed the safari including the virus one. i was like, what ???? did i just close it??? honestly i don't remember if i ever tried to force quit the virus from the apple icon before i went crazy downloading antivirus app. Maybe i did, and now i succeed because of the help of the antivirus app??? I don't know. but the virus website is gone for sure, and i can also shut down my mac now, everything seems doing good, but i am not really sure if everything is 100% healthy after this time.

Also, i can't help wondering: should human being really stop visiting porn websites???

It's not a virus - It's a regular old browser popup window.

These are used by advertisers of all sorts. The ones that won't close are often used by the fake anti-virus software companies trying to get you to buy their anti-virus and have a popup saying you have a virus and show you a fake scan of your hard drive.

When you get a popup that can't be closed:

head for the Dock - right click on the browser icon of whichever browser you're using - select quit - it won't quit - then go back and right click on it again and select Force Quit.

or

open up Activity Monitor - highlight the browser from the list and then select Quit Process - it won't quit - while it's still highlighted, you can then select Force Quit.

Sometimes, you do need to do a hard shut down - e.g. hold the power button until it turns off.
Then when you turn the machine back on and launch the browser, it's going to load those same pages - gotta be quick and close all those tabs before they can load. Can take a couple of tries.

Open Safari - Preferences - Security tab - put a check next to Block popups.

Or, just quit visiting porn sites.

Repeat repeat repeat .. there are no mac OS X viruses.

And the App Sore is like other business that follow the old Latin proverb .. a buck is a buck is a buck.
