Macro shortcut key for Excel

Hi,

ive just set up a macro on my microsoft office for mac and it says to pres cmd+option+ (the letter ) which is Q

But when i do this it closes my excel sheet however if i dont try the shortcut my macro is working ok

on windows the shortcut key is ctrl + (letter )

any ideas why short cut not working on mac for me?

-You can apply crl Q to the macro to get it to work

cmd+option+Q is quit application and keep windows, so your Macro shortcut is clashing with a system wide OSX key combination - crl Q wont do that
