Apple iMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.16 20-Inch Specs

i have an old imac that will not boot up. when i turn it on the screen is completely black. the only indication I have that it is on is the white light in right corner of the computer. any help would be greatly appreciated

Any chime? Otherwise suggest power supply or logic board failure. If so not worth repairing alas.

As Harry stated, either the power supply has failed or the logic board is dead. Check the power supply first. If you have a VOM go to iFixit: The free repair manual and look at the breakdown for your iMac. That should show the PS and from there you can use your VOM to check voltages.
