Mac Mini - Recovery discs?

I have an Intel Core Duo 2007 Mac Mini with Mac OS X 10.7.5 installed, didn't come with a set of installation discs.

Do I need to try and find an Intel based Mac Mini Installation disc for Mac OS Lion in order to do a recovery if need be in the future?

There's a recovery partition that can be accessed holding cmd+R for re-installing but if the hard disk fails you'll need an install disc.

If you purchased Lion yourself you can re-download Lion from the purchased tab in the Mac App Store then create a DVD or USB installer disc using Lion DiskMaker

If its 10.7 it should have been installed with a recovery partition

If you have purchased 10.7 on the Apple store at some point you can download it and create your own usb boot disk (the instructions are for Mountain Lion but apply to Lion 10.7 as well)

Well no I didn't purchase it. And it's not available on the Mac app store. Because i purchased this from a friend. I think he lost the recovery cds and wasn't sure if there was any hidden petitions With the Recovery.

There are no recovery discs for Lion unless you create one as above.

Just did the command r thing, there seems to be a recovery drive by the sounds of it. Thanks for all your help.

If you find you need to separate backup (in caee the whole disk goes south at some point) then you could try calling Apple, they confirmed to me that they will still sell Lion Server, so I guess they still sell Lion, they just dont advertise the fact

I would suggest calling them. I think I saw somewhere that it can be ordered through Apple customer service but isn't available through local Apple Stores or probably the Apple store website.
