New battery needed for MacBook?

I have a MacBook 4,2 (white MacBook) running MacOS 10.6.8. My battery does not seem to hold a charge as long as it used to. Here are the details on my battery:

All seems normal but with with a fairly high cycle count.

Is a new battery needed? I tend to plug the MacBook in each night after using it. Am I better off letting the battery run down almost completely before plugging it in?

That battery has seen better days.... With a cycle count that high, it's ready to be replaced. However, since your machine is quite old, I wouldn't spend a lot of money for a new one. You can find a knock off battery on the internet or from eBay that will work fairly well for a year or so for less than $50. A new one from Apple will cost you around $110.00.

Sure, but it will cost almost as much as Apple charges.
