Trouble shoot ATV

2nd gen ATV appears to be locked up. The blue movie icon is highlighted and I cannot get it to move in any direction. I put new batteries in remote, everytime I hit any button the ATV light will blink, but nothing happens. Do I need a new remote or a new 3rd gen ATV?

Have you tried unplugging the power cord and wait a few seconds then plug it back in.
