I have recently seen an increase of ads on several sites that I visit daily. These are annoying ads that encroach on space where I might click. I researched AdBlock, which I thought was free until I received a message about a donation on the honor system.
Is AdBlock for Safari the best of the ad blockers? Should I pay for it?

Is there something else I should use?

Thanks.

Donations aren't mandatory - if you don't feel like donating, don't feel compelled to do so.

AdBlock in all its incarnations is widely used and well respected. I don't know how many alternative ad blockers are available for Safari but you can't go wrong with that one.
