Assuming the disk is in a usable state I'd take it out of the old MBP and connect it to the new one with either a 2.5" sata - usb enclosure or a sata - usb interface kit

So true, but sometimes there are devices that survive. hehehe. Especially when you put it in some grain grain of rice. That's what they said. Havent tried it though
