Sudden change in my Word 2008 docs

I'm running Word for Mac 2008 on my Mac Book Pro. Suddenly when I open a new document, the new screen open up smaller than it always has. I try to expand it using the top left Green Button and the top right screen angled arrows, nothing works. When I copy text, move it to this new smaller window, the right side is clipped off. It prints this way as well. All suggestions greatly appreciated.
