Microsoft Excel printing problem

My spreadsheets won't print black only, even though that is what is specified. I have Excel 2008 for Mac, v. 12.3.6.

Mac Mini Core i7 2012 | White 2009 MacBook 2 Ghz | 733 Mhz G4 Quicksilver
With excel I always print to PDF or Preview first (to make sure the layout is correct). Try printing to preview and then selecting black and white from there
