Upgrades for my Macbook Pro

Hey everyone this is my first post but i figured that this is probably the best place to post this. So I want to know how/ what is the maximum amount of ram/ largest hdd or what ever kinds of mods I may be able to do to this laptop! Please let me know!

I have a somewhat low price rage meaning I dont really care to drop $150 on an SSD when I could care less about 1/4sec faster boot time but I am interested in using it for a few more years to come so I would like to upgrade it reasonably! thank you in advance!

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Assuming this is a 2011 model MacBook Pro, you can install up to 16GB of memory. Apple states 8GB but 16GB will be just fine. Earlier 2.4GHz can accommodate 6GB or 8GB. Need to know the model number for precise information. 2 x 8GB will set you back about $150.00. OWC and Crucial are the best recommended brands here.

And a quarter of a second improvement from an SSD ~ who told you that? An SSD is a great improvement. Have a look at this with your 2.4GHz MBP:-

Your machine can take 8 GB of memory. From Mactracker:

Maximum Memory 8.0 GB
Memory Slots 2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Hard drive upgrades vary, but you can put a 1 TB 5400 RPM drive in your machine provided you purchase the right one. It has to be 2.5" wide and no more than 9.5 MM thick. Amazon and Other World Computing both sell several model hard drives that meet those specs.

If you want a faster hard drive, then you can purchase a 750 GB 7200 RPM drive with the correct dimensions from Other World Computing or Amazon.

Those really are the only easy do it yourself upgrades that will not cost you an arm and a leg.

Yes, it will fit. Unless you do have a 2011 MBP (which according to your specs, you do not), the maximum amount of memory your machine can take is 8 GB. That would be 2 X 4GB modules matched.
