OK, I am having and issue with one of my MBP usb ports, I plug my Iphone, my Ipad, or external HD into one of my usb ports after Im done and I removed it when I plug back into the port it dosent work, (the other port works fine no issue) I have to restart and then it will work, but then the same thing happens. this doesnt happen everytime but it has been happening a lot lately. I am in Kuwait working so I dont have an Apple store available, I will be returning back to the US in early Aug. is there something I could do to fix this problem or do I need to keep what I am doing till I can get to an apple store?

Try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC). See the following Apple KB article for instructions: LINK If that doesn't work, live with it until you get back to the US.

Only other thing I might try, while the machine is shut down, take a can of compressed air and 2-3 blasts into that USB port - might get lucky.

I tired the air thing first, figured try the easiest first and see what happens, it seemed to have worked could be a fluke but hey.

thanks to both for your help.
