I have a question. I have a MacBook Air with a SuperDrive. I am using Burn to create dvds. Typical issue... the dvds work great on the MacBook Air and several dvd players/game systems. But I have one player that will not play the new dvds. It takes me to the play menu and when I hit play it will not do it. Is this simply because it is an older generation dvd player, or because I am missing a step while using Burn to create the dvd? It seems Burn transcodes the original movie file automatically to an mpg. file. It appears to finalize the disk on it's own. I suppose it could be the kind of dvds being used as well. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Hi Benm... - welcome to the forum! :)

Not sure that I can help much @ the moment, but some more information may help, e.g. what format is the DVD being saved, is the DVD copy protected, and what player (i.e. brand/model) does not work - might be helpful for others to respond - good luck!

Try Verbatim DVD-R and maybe a commercial burning program such as Toast Titanium may be the go.

Its a simple thing to miss, but in Burn, are you sure you have it set on the Left Dropdown menu to DVD-Video and not one of the others like VCD, SVCD or DivX ??
Its such a simple thing to miss and people do it all the time :)

EDIT : ^^^ Pay no attention to the above as i read the post more :) Under Preferences have you selected the Correct Region under Video PAL or NTSC and if you have then try the above suggestions as to a better quality DVD, or just use the OS X System Burn Feature as that works quite well as well and thats as easy as Control+Click on the File you want to burn, then in the Contexual Menu go down to Burn File You Just Selected to Disc and follow the Prompts (Make sure you have a blank DVD in your Drive first :)

Cheers
