I have a problem. I have an iPad which was purchased for me to use at my work. I am a teacher and at first they had it set up to be totally controlled. So if I needed an app, even a free one I had to give them the iPad and they would download them.

As we started getting more teachers using them they understood how unworkable this is. So they have allowed us to take control and trust in out professionalism. So I am trying to get apps and I have found that they originally removed the App Store icon and app from the iPad.

I need to download Pages and some other things as well as some of the excellent free education apps, but at this point I can not do it.

My school computer has been turned in for updating so I can not sync it at this point. I do not want to sync it to my home computer because I have kids and there are a bunch of kids games that I do not want on my work iPad.

Thanks!

You will need to take it in and have those who control the iPad and they will have to remove the profile.

Best bet would be as Deckyon suggested.

But, you have full control of installing or not installing the apps you want to sync from iTunes to any iDevice.

Any apps you don't want to sync, then uncheck them and they won't sync.

If you've been syncing with your school computer, would plan on backing up first thing prior to syncing when you connect it at home.
I have no clue whether the iPad may have been disabled from syncing to other computers or not by your IT dpt.
