Hi please excuse my first post been a plea for help. 
I have just bought a used a1181, it had the battery cable issue which i ordered a new one and replaced.
But...
It won't boot with the battery installed, without the battery its boots 80% of time (possibly the Hard disk is on the way).
But with the battery in (even with a/c plugged in) it just sits on the apple logo screen.
If i remove the battery it boots ok (80% of time)
If i put the battery in once running it shows on the status bar and it charges up and i used
coconut battery to check and it looks fine.
Googling seams to keep bring up batter lead, but i've sorted that problem.
