Hello all,

I work at a recycling depot and today we received a Mac G5 in beautiful condition. The owner had removed the hard drive but said that the machine works fine. I installed a new HDD and It turns on fine and makes the startup sound but nothing is being displayed on my screen. I suspect this is due to the fact that the 1st monitor output on the motherboard is an ADC output, and I am using the second which is DVI. Can anybody vouch for this? ADC seemed to have been short lived I can't find an answer on google. Any other suggestions greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Recycle your electronics!

The Power Mac G5 should use which ever video interface has a monitor attached, in your case DVI. If the G5 and display is good you should see brightness on the display, then a flashing folder and question mark unless the HD has a compatible PPC OS on it and it boots.
