ha, pity you asked that buddy, i dont exactly remember, but it was something to do with a bit-torrent web site initially viewed in Safari, that recomended Torch.

it was then i discovered that Torch can handle bit-torrent files without the aid of any 3rd party software ! but then that is sommat that shouldnt be mentioned ?

anyway, i paid the price, my MBP hasnt worked since ! LOL i thought it was a virus or worse !

I have not checked in ages but Opera used to have a built in Bit Torrent client.

Not any longer Dennis and I'm using the latest release 12.15.

They removed it along with the IRC client as an attempt to cut out unnecessary components. I think it's a shame since I thought, even with all of those features, Opera was pretty nimble.

The latest release of Opera seems faster but still lags a bit behind Chrome. And yes, I also miss the IRC client although I never did use Bit Torrent.

Should be interesting to see how Opera performs when they migrate away from Presto to Blink. I imagine that's still a way out but they have started it - they have a beta of a WebKit based browser available for Android. It's not Blink but I can't imagine that swapping out WebKit in favour of Blink will be all that hard.
