Thanks - had bought the previous version last month for my MBP (and put it on our new iMac at no additional price) - just updated both and looking forward to using it - reminds me of the GIMP - Dave :)

Gimp is way harder to use. The UI in Pixelmator is a lot more user friendly.

Right on. Although GIMP is way more powerful, it's a real dog to get working right.

Just doing the update now

While I am a Pro Photoshop user (Pro as in its my bread and butter), Pixelmator is sleek, fast and a joy to use for those jobs that do not require all of PS's features.

I'll have to explore what's new in the latest version

Glad to know! YEH - the GIMP was a struggle for me, mainly because I did not use the program that often - looking forward to giving Pixelmator a try! :)

Take a look at Acorn 4 as well.

I use Pixelmator daily, but a bug (that we now know is limited to just certain Mac models with certain graphics setups) was driving me crazy and sadly wasn't fixed in 2.2. The devs are aware of the problem and working on a fix apparently, which is good news for me.

So far the update is exactly that -- an improvement all around. Nothing revolutionary, but I haven't played with all 100 features yet. :)
