Hi,
I have a macbook pro 13" 2.53 GHZ...I use it mainly for photo editing in LR and Photoshop and go through huge amounts of images.

I was thinking of upgrading to a SSD drive and maybe taking out the DVD burner and putting in a large regular HD in that spot. That way I could still have a lot of room on the laptop and do all of my editing on the SSD drive.

I love not having to bring a card reader with me on my travels though and just using the SD card slot to download all of my images at a fast speed. Anyone know if this port will still work if those modifications are done? Or maybe there is an external card reader that will be able to match the same download speeds or better?
thanks,
M

The SD card slot will still be in place if you replace the DVD drive with an SSD

The SD card slot is also at the opposite end of the motherboard
