I want to put an audio book(novel) from the local library onto my iPod. Because there are intervals in the reading (22) on each disc they come up as tracks, 1- 22. I need to know how to combine them into one item, with one name.
Question one, how is this done?
Next, I want to move these discs onto my iPod,
Question 2 . How is this done?
I use a MacBook Pro Lion and I am a beginner.
Thank you. I hope someone can help.

Audio Books from the public library like other books are protected by copyright. Unless the audio book is in the public domain (not likely) you are not allowed to copy it to your iPod or any other device without permission from the copyright holder. You can certainly purchase a copy of the audio book though and back it up under fair use.

For that, I'd check with your local library.
Many libraries have available checking out of audio books already in a downloadable format online.

I know my wife has a program called Overdrive on the iPad that is used for reading books loaned electronically from our local library. A quick call to the library explaining what you want to do should clear that right up.
