I bought this: Apple MacBook Pro 17" Laptop April 2006 Customized | eBay

I have a 120GB Intel 320 SSD from my MacBook that I need to transplant into this, but I can't find a good guide ANYWHERE, and because I'm just your average teenager, I don't have the money to guess and break something.

The OWC guide video wont work, either.

Anyway, this will be here tomorrow (Saturday) morning, so I would like to know by then because it's painful going from a SSD to a 5400RPM HDD, and all my stuff is in the SSD.

Now I just need to sell a MacBook, a G5, a G4 Mac Mini, and parts. :( *ebaysellingsucks*

It's from my Polycarbonate MacBook, running Lion 10.7.5.

I know how to remove it from there, it's really easy.

I fail to understand why the cheap macs are easier to upgrade then the nice expensive ones. not even 5 screws to get to the HDD/RAM on a polycarbonate MB.

Nah...you're no idiot!:) Maybe you were...or maybe you weren't...familiar with iFixit.com. Plus...unless you do this sort of thing a lot...some details aren't worth memorizing.

As far as Mac's and upgrading. Apple is always redesigning their computers. Some models are easy to access for upgrades...and some aren't.

For a 15 year old, I do a lot more PC work than you would think ;)

I look at almost ALL the iFixit teardowns, actually. :p

Also, why can't I give you some positive rep? It says I need to give it to other people. Thats BS. You ARE the most helpful user.

Its great that you are using the Rep system, but you do have to spread the rep around, that's just how it works.

I am sure pigoo appreciates the virtual rep tho

Have you given him REP recently? If so, there is a time limit I think when you can give the same user REP again.

I agree on the white Macbooks, so easy to change the Ram and the Hard Drive.

Eh, I only visit the site 1-3 times a month during the schoolyear.

In the summer, I usally visit 1-3 times a week.

So it's been at least 4 months since i've given him rep, or anybody for that matter.

Chances are he was the last person you gave rep to. I think the system is not necessarily time dependent but looks at who got rep from you last.

As I see it there is a simple but unlikely solution: Nick can slack off a bit while the rest of us earn a similar level of respect.
