Hi,

We have created an Adobe AIR desktop application created through Iceberg running on Mac operating System. The application stores xml data in a custom file format like *.sb,*.bg, etc. This data or file is read by the application correctly on Lion machine (Mac OS X Version 10.6.3). However the application is unable to recognize the file on Mountain Lion machine (Mac OS X Version 10.8.3).

Can anyone assist me on how to "fix" this .

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OS X 10.6.3 is not Lion, it's Snow Leopard. The reason the application can not read the data correctly on a Mountain Lion machine is that it might contain PPC code. PPC coded applications will no longer run in Lion or Mountain Lion due to the lack of Rosetta.

If you made a typo about 10.6.3, and it really is Lion, post back with the correct info.

Are the custom files just plain text files named something else or binary data that encapsulate the XML data?

Hi,

The custom files just plain text files with custom extension. If I change the extension to .txt the application reads that file perfectly on Mountain Lion.

The extension itself doesn't mean anything at all or prevent access to file contents. Something else is amiss here..
