Thunderbolt question

I have a mac mini and mac air. I am looking to be able to hook up ethernet to the mac mini along with the monitor. Right now with one Thunderbolt port, this is impossible (I think).

I'd also like to add a Thunderbolt port to my mac mini.

Any ideas?

I've looked at the hubs on the market and I can't determine if they will even solve my mac air issue.

Asus has an 'add-in' TB card but (a) it is extremely pricey and (b) doubt it would fit in a Mac Mini.
