Hi

I recently noted that my macbook pro heats up sometimes. Then I checked the activity monitor and saw that FileAcessDaemon is taking about 26% from CPU. Can I quit this process? And what is the exact role of this process?

My machine is MACBOOK PRO mid 2012 non retina.

Thanking you in advance

Do you have Comodo Antivirus installed? Looks like FileAccessDaemon is part of that.

Hi

sorry for the double post was made by mistake

Yes I have comodo installed. Do I have to remove it?

Because some times it takes 26% of my cpu and if at the same time I am using some other software like MPLAB it heats up a lot up to 84degreesC and fans go up to 4000

84 & 4000 is nothing.

My MBP often heats up to 94-100C and 6000 rpm during multi-hours gaming sessions.

The vast majority of us around here are going to recommend you get rid of Comodo.

Get ClamXav if you feel you "must" have an AV software.

Maybe the better question is "do you need it?" Actually, more than that, do you need Comodo specifically (especially if it's causing you problems)?

Make sure you use their uninstaller if it came with one - not just drag it to the trash.
Most AV software will not be removed properly by just dragging them to the trash.
