scanner adaptability

I have a Nikon 4000 slide scanner and would like to use it with my late 2009 iMac.Is this possible?

Your Mac's Specs
2017 27" iMac, 10.5" iPad Pro, iPhone 8, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 Mini, Numerous iPods, Monterey
Check with Nikon to see if there are drivers for it that would enable your Mac to "see" the slide scanner. If there are no drivers, the slide scanner won't be recognized by your Mac.

You may need an updated Firewire cable and take a look at Vuescan since the Macintosh software will no longer run on modern macs
