Hi all

Just upgraded my old mac to the new iMac running Mountain Lion plus superdrive. The problem Im have is reading my old backup CDs - not all the files on the CD will copy onto the mean system.

Anyone got a solution please?

Cheers

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Sounds like some of your old work has been created on PowerPC applications will will simply not run on either of the last two operating systems.

Actually, the way I read his post, I think Paul is saying that the files won't *copy over* to his new HD so he can't even determine if PPC is an issue or not.

Thanks both - CDs were written on an old G3 running OS8 and Toast - the CD displays on the desktop, however when I try to copy the file to the new hard disk only pdfs seem to copy and I get 8058 error message - thanks for you help

Sounds like old ClarisWorks files. OS 8 is an old, old operating system.
