I have just upgraded from Snow Lep to Mountain Lion and do not much like the new Mail programme. Is there any way that I can get back to the older version?

As an alternative I am looking at Mozilla Thunderbird. Has anyone else used this and if so what are your thoughts on it ???

You'll probably have better luck explaining what it is you don't like about it.

If your primary gripe is that you're use to the old 4:3 aspect way of viewing your mail instead of the 16:9 aspect, that can be changed by going into Mail - Preferences - Viewing tab and selecting Use Classic Layout.

Thunderbird is no longer being actively supported. I second Tom's suggestion above.

Bob, I don't care what anyone says? I think that you are a gentleman :Mischievous: A very easy solution when you know where to look, thank you very much !

When I had a look at Thunderbird it was talking about the new version Chas, but no problems, I will stick with Mail now.

Ta for your time gents.

I believe they are still doing security updates, but that's about it at least for now.

Member chas_m is correct. Mozilla stopped developing Thunderbird for OS X and Windows some time ago. They are, as he stated still providing security patches and updates. I use Thunderbird mostly for its newsreader not Mail. Apple Mail is superior.
