I thought the Transcend SSD would have faster access times than the Apple SSD.

OK, assuming that it does..would you notice the actual difference in what you are doing? If the SSDs are comparably spec'ed I imagine that the performance difference is pretty negligible..

And whilst the drive may be in your Apple computer, check it out. Probably a Toshiba or similar.
