I deleted maybe about 200GB or more from a music collection I had in iTunes. I deleted them from the iTunes media folder as well as in the recycle bin. I was wondering how do I free up space in my backups? I want to start over with a clean Mac. Thanks in advance

If you want to start over with a clean Mac and don't want your backups.

Do a clean reinstall of OS X on your Mac.
After that is done, you're up and running, everything looks good...

Then repartition/format the backup drive and create a new backup.
