Buying a macbook pro

This fall i'm going to be taking some collage courses and i would like to buy a macbook pro because well i HATE windows 8!

But I'm not sure if i should get one with a i5 or i7 processor? Other then school i will use it for basic day to day stuff and photo/video editing. Not really in to gaming so that's not a big deal. Also i'm hoping for a mac that last me for awhile unlike pcs that only last 2 years.

Are you interested in a 13" or 15" MBP?

FYI...only the 13" comes in an i5 version.

I just bought a pro with the i7 it isn't here yet but if you want a computer that will be faster longer and get more money when you decide to sell it then get the i7.

The 13" MBP has two stock configurations:

- 2.5ghz i5 for $1199
- 2.9ghz i7 for $1499

Make your choice!

I guess i never thought about selling it when i want a new. do they have decent resell values?

Reselling a computer is always the perfect way to partially finance a new computer. 3-4 years from now...the 13" MBP you buy today...you will most likely want to sell to help you purchase your next computer.

Automobiles work the same way.

As far as resale value...it is what it is when it is selling time.

But Macs have had higher resale values traditionally than generic PCs. So you might get a good percentage of your initial expense back assuming you maintain the Mac properly, i.e., no scratches, damage and nothing is broken or nonfunctional..
