When I try to restart my computer, it will not restart until I "Force Quit" iPhoto.

Also, when doing some editing, after about 20 minutes, the iphoto program crashes

Any ideas ?

Another thing you could try is:

Open iPhoto whilst holding down cmd + option (alt). This will bring up a window with options for repairing permissions, rebuilding your library, and other "restorative or housekeeping" things.

Worth giving these a go as the problem could be within iPhoto, such as faulty permissions or corrupt files etc.
