Hello. I've read some other posts, but I'm still confused. I really want to connect my Macbook Pro into my HDTV to watch HBO Go online. First, can you go online while connected into the TV? Also what cord(s) should I buy? Do I need a cord for sound and image?

Thanks for your help!

Get this:

Amazon.com: Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Cable, 6 feet: Electronics

Would encourage you to buy 2 - put one in a drawer so if/when the first dies, you have a spare.

While there may be the occasional cable that does not work out of the box - You should be able to disregard almost all of the 1 star reviews that say there is no audio - they should have come here and asked.

After you plug it in - go into System Preferences - Sound - select the TV.

And it's still a good idea to read through the sticky thread on connecting to a TV to get an overview.
