why the above message appear when I tried to connect ATV with ipad 3 using wi fi ?
Also does watching youtube app needs ethernet cable connect to router ?
got a brand new atv thinking of returning never has been so frustrated with apple product.

When you say connecting using wifi....... Do you mean airplay?

Is your ATV connected to the same network as your ipad?

Your ATV can be connected by Ethernet or wifi.

Is it all airplay content or just one specific app?

Have you got the latest version of iOS on both devices?

Can you mirror your iPad over airplay?

Have you hard rebooted both devices?

thanks for your help, there are certain apps, got me into the error message,
yes, I can mirror ipad using airplay to a certain extent, come to think of it
I got the hdmi cable with adapter to mirror my content which is to me good
enough because I cannot use airplay on macbooks which are pre 2011.
So the end result is return my Apple tv wait till few more years to get
my hardware up to date. Meanwhile Apple will have to wait till then to
get my money, for those essential apps I can use Roku to stream
my movies.
To me Apple has been trying to drag more customers with their Itunes
business, I have done everything possible reboots restarts. When did
their products start having these problems ? Will have to return the apple TV
the first thing this week.
