Hi,

I am looking for a password container. There are several programs like 1password and Evernote but I don't want to synchronize my data via the cloud. Most of these programs only support synchronization via dropbox or a server that runs on a computer somewhere in the web. Is there a software that supports local sync? I am searching for a program with the following features:

- password container that uses a secure encryption algorithm
- the program should run on OS X and the iPhone
- local sync between Laptop and iPhone via USB cable
- import filters for different common data formats would be nice

1Password does indeed allow for direct syncing - no need for a cable though - you can sync it via wifi on your own home network. There is no need to have it in the cloud. Don't know if the cable option exists - haven't not used it since they incorporated wifi syncing into the app.

However, the Dropbox is quite good - auto syncing to multiple devices and across multiple OS's. I have multiple versions of OS X, iOS, Windows, and Android devices that all stay synced with no work from me. What is stored in the cloud is encrypted.

Unfortunately, WIFI sync is not supported anymore by 1password, I found this on the internet published by AgileBits:

"Over the years, our team fell in love with the ease of Dropbox and stopped using Wi-Fi sync altogether. Since none of us used it, and in light of the feature’s problematic nature for many of our users, we decided not to include Wi-Fi syncing when we rewrote 1Password 4 from the ground up."
