Time Machine Error Question

My current model MacBook Pro backs up to Time Capsule through Time Machine. It has been working fine for several months (9.8 GB stored) until I received this error message:

"The backup disk image “/Volumes/Data/Rick MacBook Pro.sparsebundle” is already in use."

The message repeats periodically.

My wife's Mac Book Air also backs up to the Time Capsule, and has for several months as well, and it was not operating when the error message first appeared.

I have searched Time Machine troubleshooting information, but have not seen this particular error message described.

Has anyone else encountered this message?

That appears to have solved the problem. I think it was the reboot of Time Capsule that did it.
