Hi,

I recently bought the new retina MBP and bought a firewire-thunderbolt adaptor with it for use with an audio interface. Annoyingly, I left the connector at university so we've had to resort to using my old, cripplingly underpowered '09 MBP simply because it has firewire.

I was wondering if there's any way of connecting my old laptop to my new one so that I can use just the firewire port on my old one but use the retina as the actual computer?

Wouldn't it be simpler to just order a new FW-TB adapter? It's $29, which I would call trivially inexpensive.

Yep, I'm heading out tonight to get one but I was just wondering if there was something that could be done for today since it's day 1 of recording

Oh, sorry, didn't understand you.

No, there's not really another option for what you wanted to do.
