I still can't connect the dots. I don't have any other problems on MacOs. Everythings working just fine. :\

Maybe a silly question. When playing games in Windows (and things are getting really hot)...can I assume that the computers fan(s) are "screaming" at max. rpm?

Just want to make sure we don't have a fan problem. Max. rpm on the fan is usually around 6000rpm.

I tend to agree with cwa... the drivers in OS X for the GPU are not optimized to take full advantage of the card - I believe Apple has them optimized for battery life and to make them run cooler - not for a high end gaming experience.

ATI and Nvidia both work on the drivers for their cards for a generation or two and it's pretty rare not to see multiple driver updates for any of their cards for Windows... Meanwhile, it's even rarer to see any graphics updates for OS X.
